Morning... rescue!

Just a very quick blog post today. Today's weather was just temperamental... one moment it was raining furiously, the next, sunny as :D but really, I wouldn't have known any better if customers didn't tell me, having been stuck indoors for 9.5hours today since 6:30am.

I realise when people ask "how are you?", it's really just out of courtesy, and really, who gives a damn, so sometimes I'll just mumble out a random response just to see their reaction. You can really tell who actually listens for a response, because most of the time, they'd just continue loading their groceries onto the table in ignorance, or digging for their wallets. Or you get the chatty ones who regurgitate their whole life story in a matter of 3 minutes.

Those are the ones most likely to leave their wallets behind =_______= How many wallets have the "lost and found" place collected, I wonder.

I didn't get my morning rescue this morning....

This was from another morning. I never get time to eat breakfast on Saturdays, but I was thinking about this grilled sandwich for some time. I haven't actually had the combination of avocado and bacon before... and the good thing about this sandwich was that the bacon was chopped to pieces. Too often, I've tried to take a bite out of a strip of bacon, and ended up pulling the whole strip out. This solves that problem! :D

Last Sunday, I went with a couple of friends after church to Cabramatta. It's not a place I usually visit because it's so far, but it being Easter Sunday, we weren't certain which shops were open, so Cabramatta, like China Town, is a pretty safe bet that there will be shops open.

This was at a cafe called Oishii Cafe, which is rather funny because there was nothing even remotely Japanese about the place. This was their Vietnamese iced white coffee, and do not get fooled by the word "white", it was crazy strong, but so good :D I definitely prefer Vietnamese iced coffee to normal Western ones.

C's avocado shake. I took one small sip of this and I have no idea how she could finish it. Tasted exactly like avocado- no surprise there, but that cupful must have been... at least 3 full avocados in there... soooo filling.

As for lunch? Well, Cabramatta- Vietnamese community, of couse pho!

C ordered a pork chop rice dish, which was actually quite good despite its charred appearance. I tend to stay away from pork chop that looks dry because it most likely is dry, but they do give you some sweet chilli garlic sauce to go with it, so it's not too bad. Not my kinda dish though..

:D Look at that~

Ordered the first thing on the menu and awaited the surprise cos I had not much of a clue what it was... menu was in Viet. It was very much like tung yum soup base with a mixture of pork, beef and chicken, some in slices of meat form, others in fish paste sliced form. As usual, requested for no coriander and it delivered beautifully (with shallots and onions which I didn't mind at all). Wasn't as spicy as I anticipated it to be, but definitely had a really good kick to it.

It was a really crowded restaurant, so we decided to try it, but originally, plan was to try another restaurant, though the only description we got was "it's in between a phone shop and a medicine shop". =__________= Surprise though, we did manage to find it right when we were leaving.... but then... we were leaving. Haha.
